# Delete a widget session

> Remove one session row and its secrets. Conversations are disassociated, not deleted.

Removes a [session](/docs/api-reference/widgetsessionservice/create-a-widget-session) and its secrets. Any tokens it minted stop working, same as a [revoke](/docs/api-reference/widgetsessionservice/revoke-a-widget-session), but the row itself goes away too.

<CodeGroup>
  ```typescript TypeScript theme={null}
  await client.widgetSessions.delete(sessionId, { workspaceId });
  ```

  ```go Go theme={null}
  err := client.WidgetSessions.Delete(ctx, sessionID,
  	cadenya.WidgetSessionDeleteParams{WorkspaceID: cadenya.String(workspaceID)})
  if err != nil {
  	panic(err.Error())
  }
  ```

  ```ruby Ruby theme={null}
  cadenya.widget_sessions.delete(session_id, workspace_id: workspace_id)
  ```

  ```bash cURL theme={null}
  curl -X DELETE "https://api.cadenya.com/v1/workspaces/${WORKSPACE_ID}/widget_sessions/${SESSION_ID}" \
    -H "Authorization: Bearer ${CADENYA_API_KEY}"
  ```
</CodeGroup>

## Conversations survive, disassociated

Deleting a session does not delete the conversations it created. They stay in the workspace as objectives; they lose their link to the deleted session. If the goal is erasure (a GDPR request, an offboarded customer) that is not enough, and the [tenant-level delete](/docs/api-reference/widgetsessionservice/delete-all-of-a-tenants-widget-sessions) is the endpoint that takes the conversations with it.

Pick by intent:

```
end access, keep the audit row      → :revoke
tidy up one row, keep conversations → DELETE /widget_sessions/{id}
erase a tenant, conversations too   → DELETE /widget_sessions?tenantId=…
```
